Danielle Dayton coached me for three years, and she is a role model to me. I felt the need to honor her achievements and show the impact she had not only on me but on the MFS community. This felt like a tribute to her years as a coach and as a mentor.

This article came out hours after an email was sent announcing the return to school. I was in the car on my way to my grandma’s house. I sat in the back seat of my car interviewing the Head of School on my computer using a hotspot. It isn’t about the article, but rather the process of getting all of the information together in a quick turn around and publishing work I’m proud of. This article brought me joy because it was the first time I was writing an article on deadline. I realized the adrenaline and passion I had while sitting in the back of my mom’s car.

This is my version of ESPN hockey stories. The way I connect with my dad is through hockey. I was able to combine my passions and began writing articles about not just the Philadelphia Flyers, but the NHL in general. Passion leaks out through the words in these articles, showing my years of love and dedication to the sport. I hope to one day write articles like this for a sports team.
