It took Hilary Knight 11 games to score her second goal in year one of the PWHL. She’s scored in back-to-back games to open the season with the Boston Fleet, and looks primed for a big season.
Captain and Boston Fleet returner, Hillary Knight has made a statement this season, scoring both of the teams goals.
The 5-foot-11 forward is no rookie to professional hockey having played previously for the Boston Pride, Boston Blades, Montreal Canadiennes, and as a member of the PWHPA, and being one of the first players to sign with the Fleet.
Knight played 24 games last season with the Fleet, totaling six goals and five assists. However she didn’t score her first goal until in the sixth game of the 2023-24 season.
She is already on track to beat that record, having scored one goal in each of the two games the Fleet have played thus far.
The Boston Fleet’s offense has struggled this season. As the sole goal scorer for the team this season, Knight said there are things to work on.
“We’re just trying to go north with the puck. We were kind of playing hot potato out there for a good first and second period. We need to get out of our zone, get more people in the offensive zone, and put more pressure on them,” she said.
